A half HXD is a development of Siemens ES64F1 for 25 kV 50 Hz, with only a single driver'cab.
The continuous power rating is lower - 4,8 MW instead of 6,4 MW -
and the body length is shorter: distance between bogie pivot is reduced from 9900 mm to 9000 mm.
The rooftop is near to 20 cm higher as th one of DB 152 body.
Two machines are permanently coupled back-to-back. HXD1 is member of the fourth generation of Eurosprinter:
The converters are built with IGBT and not with GTO as the 3 first generations. Only the body seems like second generation.
Each nose-suspended asynchronous motor is drived by a separate IGBT frequency converter.
After upgrade of railway infrastructure, these machines could be ballasted up to 200 t,
in order to have a 760 kN starting effort.
The third batch received new designed cabs and inverters developped and built by CSR.
CSR Ziyang built #6001 in 2012 under Zhuzhou design.
CSR Zhuzhou built #7001 - 7002 in 2013 with modern designed cabs and a middle cabless BoBo central element. They are 3xBoBo of 14400 kW delivered to Shenhua Mining Group.
Shenhua Mining Group also ordered 8 eight-axles locomotives in 2013 (2xBoBo). |
