Locomotive and power heads developped by Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works. The electric equipment is a Mitrac 3000 which is used on Traxx family. It is built in GTO technology with water cooling, as the TRAXX F140AC1. Each traction motor is drived by his own converter The continuous, and maximal, power rating is 4,8 MW. Each traction motor is rated at 1,225 MW In commercial service since 2001.

Fourth batch of 2 power heads. Train formation: Power head- 9 cars - power head. The look of cars is quite similar to german ICE1 or italian ETR500. This train is holding the speed record in China: 321,5 km/h on the new Qinshen line. In commercial service between Shenyang to Shanhaiguan from august 2005, but in a first step limited at 160 km/h as the other high speed trains. The commercial speed after pioneer service will be 270 km/h.
This train is not yet produced in serie.
